My favorite time of the year has arrived- summer! With summer comes the most amazing adventures as I am free from school stress and now all I have to look forward to is college (✧ω✧) So to kick it off, some friends and I ventured up to the San Diego County Fair at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on Saturday! This fair goes on annually for once a month during the summer.
Once you go in, there are instantly food stalls everywhere! They sell wacky food here (most of which are deep fried.) I was so full by the end of the day but I want to come back again and try the fried zucchini and deep fried cookie dough!
I actually bought the Mexican funnel cake which was basically a churro funnel cake and it was delicious!
At this stall with the giant corn inflatable, they sold sweet corn ice cream!
I wanted to get these spiral fries so badly but my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach this day *cries* NEXT TIME I'M COMING FOR THEM!
The samoa doughnut sounded AMAZING but again, my stomach unfortunately decided to feel like the size of a pea that day :'-(
The fried slim fast and peanut butter pickles were definitely questionable. If any of you guys tried the latter please tell me what you thought of it!!
A fried gansito sounds like it would taste amazing; I also feel the need to try that.
Now onto the rides!
Now onto the rides!
I love swings but I didn't ride 'em, RIP.
I didn't go on any rides because my stomach can't handle spinning ones but I usually go to the fair anyways to look at the garden and art exhibits and to eat a whole bunch of junk food whoops
This one had Nicholas Cage painted on the side for absolutely no reason, it made me laugh heh
The garden and flower show is so lovely and inspires me to garden someday when I am older and have my own home!
These were my favorite displays I saw and holy moly, aren't they gorgeous?!
I loved how these were assorted by their color ♡

The fair also had a gems, minerals, fossils and wood exhibit and this year was the first time I've seen or even heard about it!

There was a small, dark room where there were different types of minerals under UV lights and they were stunning.
Have any of you been to your local fair? What's your favorite part about going? Let me know below and thank you for reading, come again soon! (▰˘◡˘▰)
